Dinner’s ready!

May 30, 2008 at 5:43 pm (Food-Adventure, I Will, And I Can Be A Health Freak!, I am adventurous... I think)

Its weird.

Whenever I announce that I’m cooking, one second, you can see people hanging around the living room, next second, people are already all dressed up and ready for an appointment. Even Flash Man hides in shame at the speed of their actions.

Never mind them. Some life’s mysteries are not meant to be solved anyway. I’m just contented to have Will who is always there to tell me my cooking tasted excellent.

**

I could swear I heard a lil’ squeak of plea when I said “i’m gona make something experimental today”. A sure check prooved that Will were smiling as usual, excitedly tagged along to market to get the ingredients.

This time, I’ve even cooked up some name for the things I’ve made:

Salad of the Odd

Ingredients: Canned Tuna Flakes, J-cucumbers, Carrots, butterhead lettuce, canned corns and mayonnaise

Seaweed Soup and Stuff

Ingredients: Seaweed, stock, egg tofu and crab stick

Stirfryo Wierdo

Ingrediants: Soft tofu, Crab stick, Sausage, Onions, Egg Tofu, Carrot cubes, Seseme Seed Oil, Egg and stock

Rice Ball

Ingredients: Nuclear waste, biohazzardous chemical and a lil’ dogs tears to taste.

Finally, the chart topper in my bizarrerie food hall of fame goes to …

heart shaped tomatoe

Cutesies, isn’t it?

Berfdey Past

This year’s birthday I didn’t asked to be excused from work. Some even gasp when they found out I didn’t cancel yoga after work.

Afew colleagues brought me to Jack’s Place in Sunway for birthday lunch.

Will brought me to Secret Recipie on the day itself. Then Saisaki during the weekend for an elaborated celebration. Too bad, I did not snap any picture in Saisaki. It was kinda crowded. I strongly advice you bring a mini fan there, because it does feel abit hot and humid in there after the renovation.

**

It had been a year since we last visited Secret Recipie, and I thought it was rather… different then.

cam-chix’in

This my best shot. I can’t recall SR’s Tomyum Kung looked and tasted THAT disappointing

Will’s cod tasted like yellow-noodle-preservative-alkaline

Mixed Fruit Ice Blended Yogurt is a yum tho

Mushroom soup lived up to my expectation too. (Tho I still have other places on top of SR for my list of best-mushr-soup)

Either the food gave me so much disappointment that their cake tasted awesome when it was served at the end, or the cake really maintained it’s yum-factor since it first stormed Penang when I was still in college.

Either way, i enjoyed em’ – my berfday slices-o-fats. *giggles*

One point to another

May 6, 2008 at 10:35 am (I am adventurous... I think)

Moving, is big business. Especially if you’ve the total muscles of only a geek and an ex soccer player, both retired at their peak age of 17.

Both had been idling since. -____-”

Usually, I’d roll my eye when Will haunt me with “are you sure you need it?” in Ikea. Everytime, I’d manage to conjure up thousand reasons just to have the chance to yank out some hard earned sweat blood money on something I hardly need.

Now, I have a thousand reasons to regret.

This time, we’ve lived up to Avanza’s tagline: “Carry More, Enjoy More and Simply Do More”, (minus the ‘enjoy’) and took back one car load full of junks back to my mom’s place.

We had a kodak moment when mom saw my stuff.

**

I didn’t know that was the easy part until we had to move the king size coconut husk bed.

As if dragging it through corridors and trying to fit it into the lift isn’t difficult enough, we even had to carry it over the MPV’s roof, hold on to it, making sure it doesn’t tumble and make headlines in The Star.

The car looked goofy with a bed tied to its roof, but we’re too drained to even give a chuckle.

Yesterday, after hauling the two-doored fridge over to our new place, I practically dragged my ass to bathe, and K.O.ed, wishing the Osim heat pack were of a human size instead.

The heat pack took away the back pain, but i doesn’t take away several nagging phone calls from the landlady, at 8am in the morning for me to clear away EVERYTHING.

If she hasn’t proofed that she could hardly understand english, I might thought she’s the voice behind Mickey. (yes, the mouse)

Talk about Monday blues, she just gave me a grey one!

** This was written on Monday, I just forgot to post it. :p
